Preparing for adult life
There is information in this section to help children and young people with a disability move between phases of education and prepare for adult life.
Young people approaching adulthood want to make decisions for themselves and develop their own pathway to what everyone wants from life; employment, regular meaningful activities, the maximum levels of independent living, community inclusion and good health.

There have recently been big changes to the way disabled young people and people with special educational needs are supported when they finish school and move on to the next stage in their lives.
The young people in this short film talk about some of the different types of support that are available.
You can find out more about the services and support that work with young people with SEN and disabilities in Somerset on the Preparing for Adulthood website.
